The scene itself used DAZ 3D's Genesis 2 Female with our Skyler character (soon to be released). The polygon hair was made specifically for Skyler and will be included with the character package. The outfit was created by another 3d artist.

I had a discussion recently with someone regarding modeling clothes for a specific DAZ Genesis shape. They suggested that trying to model cute clothing for a specific Genesis morph was impractical due to the fact that the clothing item needs to fit a 6 foot male figure by default.I agree that trying to picture a clothing item on a specific shape while modeling it on a male shape is far from ideal - that's why I'm going to show you how to get around the issue. 

Note: This article presumes that you already know the basic steps to create a conforming clothing item in DAZ Studio.

Using Subdivision to Smooth off a Figure

Some of the newer figures these days make use of a feature called "subdivision" in DAZ Studio. Although the technicalities of this feature are rather complex, it basically splits up each polygon into several polygons to help smooth them off.

In this article, I will explain how you can add this feature to legacy Poser figures or content to reduce the blockiness of lower resolution models.

I'm going to be modeling a long cloak for a future character, so I figured I'd share the process here for those of you that are interested. This cloak will be created for DAZ 3D's "Genesis" figure.
Inspiration comes from the Lord of the Rings Gandalf character, as well as the Star Wars styled Jedi robes.
