Realistic Metal in DAZ Studio
May 31, 2006
DAZ Studio
Most Daz Studio renders I've seen of metal work have very bright (almost white) metallic bits.
After a bit of playing, I've found a shader setting that works quite nicely as chrome and metal in Daz Studio.

Skill level: basic
Time Taken: 5 minutes

Here's the shader settings to get a nice chrome:
Diffuse Color: 0 0 0 (no image)
Diffuse Strength: 100%
Glossiness: 95%
Specular Color: 255 255 255 (white)
Specular Strength: 100%
Multiply Specular Through Opacity: On
Ambient Color: 0 0 0 (black)
Ambient Strength: 15%
Opacity Strength: 100% (no image)
Reflection Color: 255 255 255 (generic metal reflection map)
Reflection Strength: 88%
Lighting Model: Glossy (Plastic)

Here's a render using these settings for the chrome in a very basic scene with one distant light:
