In Part 2 of this article series, I will be modeling the body of a cartoon rabbit in LightWave. The video is basically a slideshow of the steps taken.

Skill level: moderate
Time Taken: about 30 minutes

Here's a video slideshow of the process. For a detailed look at the process, see below...

And here's the steps we took to get to our final model...

I start the body with a simple extrude as I already have the neck...

I define the nubs that will become the arms later...

Another extrude to pull the arms out, and I move onto the tail...

Detailing done on the tail...

I now create nubs for the legs...

Some more extruding to create the legs...

More extruding and adjusting to create the basic foot shape...

A lot of detailing to create the toes and improve the foot shape...

Back to the arms again. More extrusions to shape the arms...

I create the palm with careful planning of where fingers will attach...

I create the first finger using a basic cylinder that I cap at the one end. Loops are then sized to create the desired finger shape...

I make copies of the original finger, sizing and rotating to place them correctly...

Hand complete...

And here's our basic Rabbit model...
